Brown corundum, also known as emery, is a brown artificial corundum produced by melting and reducing three raw materials: alumina, carbon materials, and iron filings in an electric arc furnace, hence its name. The main chemical component of brown corundum is AL2O3, its content is 95.00%-97.00%, and it also contains a small amount of Fe, Si, Ti, etc. Brown corundum is the most basic abrasive and is widely used because of its good grinding performance, wide range of applications and low price.

Brown corundum is made of bauxite and coke (anthracite) as the main raw materials, and is smelted at high temperature in an electric arc furnace. Abrasive tools made of it are suitable for grinding metals with high tensile strength, such as various General steel, malleable iron, hard bronze, etc., can also be used to make * refractory materials. Brown corundum has the characteristics of high purity, good crystallization, strong fluidity, low linear expansion coefficient and corrosion resistance. It has been verified by dozens of refractory manufacturing companies that this product does not explode, pulverize or crack during application. In particular, its cost performance is much higher than that of traditional brown corundum, making it the preferred aggregate and filler for brown corundum refractory materials.

 

Product Usage


Brown corundum is called the tooth of industry: mainly used in refractory materials, grinding wheels, and sandblasting.
1. Used to make * refractory materials, castables, refractory bricks, etc.
2. Sandblasting - the abrasive has moderate hardness, high bulk density, no free silica, heavy specific gravity, and good toughness. It is an ideal "environmentally friendly" sandblasting material and is widely used in aluminum profiles, copper profiles, glass, and washed denim. Precision molds and other fields;
3. Free grinding - grinding grade abrasives, used in free grinding of picture tubes, optical glass, monocrystalline silicon, lenses, watch glass, crystal glass, jade and other fields, and is the most commonly used abrasive material in China ;

4. Resin abrasives - the abrasives have suitable color, good hardness, toughness, suitable particle cross-section type and edge retention. When applied to resin abrasives, the effect is ideal;
5. Coated abrasives - the abrasive is sandpaper , gauze and other manufacturers' production raw materials;
6. Functional filler - mainly used for automobile brake parts, special tires, special construction products, etc. It can be used as construction of highway pavements, airport runways, docks, parking lots, and industrial floors. .Wear-resistant materials such as sports venues;
7. Filter media - is a new application field of abrasives. Granular abrasives are used as the bottom media of the filter bed to purify drinking water or waste water.
