Brown corundum manufacturers need to attach great importance to the export market
From January to April 2023, China's cumulative export of brown fused alumina was 136,400 tons, down 1.38% year-on-year. According to the monthly export volume, although the exports in January and April were about 41,100 tons, they both declined year-on-year. The exports in February and March were 22,100 tons and 32,000 tons, respectively, representing an increase of 3.18% and 7.21% year-on-year. The export volume trend is as follows:

March: 32,000 tons (7.21% YOY increase)
April: 41,100 tons (YOY decline)
From January to April 2023, China's brown fused alumina exports reached 72 countries and regions, an increase of 1 compared to the same period last year. Seven countries and regions exported more than 5,000 tons, but only the United States, Japan, India, and South Korea exported more than 10,000 tons. The specific export volumes are as follows:
United States: >10,000 tons
Japan: >10,000 tons
India: >10,000 tons
South Korea: >10,000 tons
In terms of average export price, the price of exporting to the United States is low, below 5,000 yuan/ton. The average price of exports to South Korea is the highest, close to 14,000 yuan/ton. China's brown fused alumina exports to the United States are concentrated in 9 provinces and cities. Among them, Hubei Province exported 10,500 tons, Shanxi Province and Zhejiang Province exported 720,000 tons, and Anhui Province exported 210,000 tons. Brown fused alumina exports to Japan are spread across as many as 20 provinces and cities. Among them, Henan Province exported 590,000 tons, Jiangxi Province exported 420,000 tons, Zhejiang Province exported 340,000 tons, Chongqing exported 130,000 tons, and Guizhou Province exported 130,000 tons.
China's brown fused alumina production enterprises are distributed in Henan, Guizhou, Shanxi, Chongqing, and Guangxi. Among them, Henan and Guizhou have the highest output. However, the highest export volume comes from Zhejiang Province.
From January to April 2023, brown fused alumina was exported by 24 provinces and cities in China. The export volume through Zhejiang Province was 31,800 tons, a decrease of 3.24%.
Henan Province, as the main producing area of brown fused alumina, exported 27,100 tons, a decrease of 17.56%. The export of brown fused alumina from Hubei Province was 17,700 tons, an increase of 8.35%. Jiangxi Province exported 15,000 tons of brown fused alumina, down 24.16% year-on-year. Shanxi Province is also one of the brown fused alumina producing areas with a total export of 830,000 tons, an increase of 1598.11%. Chongqing exported 420,000 tons of brown fused alumina, a decrease of 56.65%. In Guizhou Province, another major producing area of brown fused alumina, the export volume was only 170,000 tons, down 23.46% year-on-year.
Henan Province exported brown fused alumina to 43 countries and regions, with higher export volumes to Japan, India, South Korea, etc. The export volumes were 590,000 tons, 410,000 tons, and 300,000 tons, respectively. Chongqing exported brown fused alumina to 9 countries and regions, with 160,000 tons to the Netherlands and 130,000 tons to Japan. Shanxi Province exported brown fused alumina to 7 countries and regions, mainly to the United States, with an export volume of 720,000 tons.
Through Zhejiang Province, brown fused alumina is exported to 45 countries and regions. However, the main export destinations are the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the Netherlands, with exports of 720,000 tons, 340,000 tons, 300,000 tons, and 290,000 tons respectively.
According to the export data of brown fused alumina by provinces and cities, the export volume of brown fused alumina is not the highest in the main producing areas, indicating the need for expanding the direct export business of manufacturers exporting brown fused alumina
