Alcoa: Alumina Production Rose 10% in The Third Quarter
According to foreign news on October 18, Alcoa's quarterly report on Wednesday showed that its losses narrowed in the third quarter, but the decline in raw material prices and production costs was not enough to offset the impact of the actual sales of alumina and aluminum products to achieve lower prices. The company said third-quarter alumina production rose 10% to 2.8 million tons, mainly due to higher output at its Alumar alumina refinery in Brazil. In the third quarter, its primary aluminum production increased 2 percent to 532,000 tons. The company said its fiscal 2023 alumina and primary aluminum shipment targets remain at 12.7-12.9 million tons and 2.5-2.6 million tons, respectively.
