Slightly sodium white corundum refers to white corundum with sodium oxide content between 0.01 and 0.09%, and its raw material is deeply processed alumina. Micro-sodium white corundum is a product with low sodium oxide content in white corundum, and the sodium oxide content in ordinary white corundum is between 0.2-0.6%.

Sodium oxide is a harmful impurity for white corundum, which forms β-Al2O3 in the molten state with alumina, and the yield increases with the increase of sodium oxide content. B-Al203 has low melting point, low body density and low hardness. Na20 in white corundum is mainly in the form of Na20-11al2o3 (B-A12O3). If the alumina raw material contains more than 0.6% sodium oxide, the white corundum produced by it will contain more than 10% β-Al203.
