The National Bureau of Statistics released a report showing that China's alumina production in June was 7.09 million tons, down 2.3% year-on-year and up 1.2% month-on-month. From January to June, alumina production was 40.598 million tons, an increase of 1.5%. June alumina production increased slightly month-on-month, mainly because some enterprises in the Guizhou and Chongqing area ended maintenance in June, gradually resumed production, and the new production of the superimposed part could gradually increase.

According to SMM research, from the year-on-year data, alumina production fell in June compared with last year, mainly due to the withdrawal of some high-cost alumina production capacity in Shanxi, Henan, Inner Mongolia and other regions, in addition, the capacity operating rate in high-cost areas has remained low this year.
