High Carbon Ferro Manganese

High Carbon Ferro Manganese

High-carbon ferromanganese , also known as standard ferromanganese, is one of the manganese ferroalloys smelted directly from manganese ores. The manganese content ranges from 74 to 82% and the carbon content ranges from 7 to 7.5%. It is produced either in a blast furnace or in an underwater arc furnace.

Application

  • Ferromanganese is used in the steel industry: Ferromanganese is used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steel production. High quality steel is deoxidized and desulfurized during melting. By adding a suitable amount of ferromanganese to the molten steel, the harmful element can be reduced and the quality of the steel can be improved. In the steel industry, the consumption of ferromanganese is about 3-5 kg FeMn75# to produce one tonne of steel.
  • Ferromanganese is used in the foundry industry: Ferromanganese is used as a nucleating and nodulating agent for ductile iron castings. It accelerates the graphite precipitation, shortens the nodulation time, reduces the impurities in the molten steel, improves the quality of the cast iron, reduces the clogging of the melting furnace nozzle and effectively prolongs the life of the melting furnace.
  • Ferromanganese is used in other industries: High carbon ferromanganese is used as a reducing agent in the production of low carbon ferroalloys. HC ferromanganese powder can also be used in welding materials and mineral deposition. High manganese ferromanganese can be used in the electrical industry to produce pure semiconductor manganese and in the chemical industry to produce manganese ketone.
