Japan Refractory Production Data And Reason Analysis

From January to September 2022, the total output of refractory materials in Japan was 621,600 tons. Among them, the output of shaped refractory products was 188,600 tons, and the output of amorphous refractory materials was 43,300 tons. The ratio of shaped refractory products to amorphous refractory production was about 2:5. The following figure shows the monthly comparison of the output of shaped and amorphous refractories, as well as the total output (Unit: ton).

As can be seen from the figure above, Japan's refractory production exhibits the following characteristics:

The production of refractory materials in Japan remained relatively stable, with a monthly output ranging between 60,000 and 80,000 tons. The average monthly output from January to September was 69,100 tons. This indicates that Japanese refractory enterprises have good control over their production rhythm, and market demand remains stable.

The output of amorphous refractories is more than twice that of shaped refractories. From January to September, the output of amorphous refractories was 2.3 times higher than that of shaped refractories. This suggests that Japanese refractory enterprises prefer environmentally friendly amorphous refractories, which is influenced by various factors.

In terms of the output from January to September, both shaped refractory products, amorphous refractories, and the total refractory output experienced a peak in March to April, while the output in other months was not as significant. This indicates that although Japanese refractory enterprises have some flexibility in production control, it generally aligns with the annual overall plan.
