Development Trend Of Brown Alumina Bauxite Industry

With the shortage of high-quality bauxite resources in China, the continuous reduction of bauxite grade, the cost of brown corundum smelting is getting higher and higher, and the energy consumption is getting larger and larger, which not only does not meet the current development situation of industrial energy conservation and emission reduction, but also does not use the healthy and sustainable development of brown corundum industry. Facing the status quo of China's bauxite resources and brown corundum industry, the future brown corundum industry will have to innovate in production technology, how to use low-grade bauxite to produce high-quality brown corundum products, transform China's rich bauxite mineral resource advantages into technical advantages and economic advantages, and improve the comprehensive utilization rate of bauxite resources. Make our country brown corundum industry can develop healthily and sustainably. We think we can start from the following aspects.
(1) To carry out chemical or physical purification technology research of medium and low grade bauxite before smelting to improve the grade of bauxite;
(2) According to the influence of chemical reaction behavior of impurity composition and change of physical properties on the smelting process of brown corundum, the feasibility of smelting brown corundum with medium and low grade bauxite with high power or super power of 7 500 kVA and above is discussed;
(3) According to the influence of impurities on the properties of brown corundum, the smelting process of electric arc furnace smelting brown corundum is innovated.
